BALTIMORE (WBFF) - Baltimore Police officer Marcus Taylor has been sentenced to 18 years in jail in a federal racketeering trial.
Earlier on Thursday, Wayne Jenkins, the leader of the police department's disbanded Gun Trace Task Force, was sentenced to 25 years in federal prison.
FOX45's Paul McGrew reported that Marcus Taylor defended himself in court, but the judge called the evidence against him strong.
U.S. District Court Judge Catherine C. Blake sentenced the 30-year-old Taylor, of Glen Burnie, to 18 years followed by three years of supervised release for racketeering conspiracy and racketeering offenses, including robbery and overtime fraud.
His co-conspirator, Det. Daniel Hersl, is scheduled to be sentenced June 22.
