Gas Main Struck in Southwest Baltimore

BALTIMORE (WBFF)-- BGE confirms, residents were permitted back into their homes Wednesday night after a gas main was struck in Baltimore City.

Baltimore City Fire Crews are on scene working to secure the area. So far, 14 homes have been evacuated, fire officials say 2 residents chose to shelter in place.

BGE officials said their crews are also on scene, they tell FOX45 that a non-BGE contractor working in the area hit a gas line.

City fire officials say the work was being done on the CSX train tracks around 2:15pm when the line was hit.

No injuries have been reported.
