NYC vs. B'MORE | Why is NYC getting safer while Baltimore remains deadly?

The scene of a recent triple shooting in Baltimore's Penn-North area

BALTIMORE (WBFF) - Last year, Baltimore was named the country's deadliest big city.

"Charm City" is home to more than 600,000 people, and, with 342 killings in 2017, the city has the worst homicide rate of any large city.

At the same time, New York City, with a population 15 times that of Baltimore, has seen a drop in numbers.

In fact, last year, for the first time in nearly 70 years, New York City saw fewer than 300 homicides.

And just this past weekend, New York went an entire weekend without a shooting.

FOX45's Joy Lambert took a look at what New York is doing right and Baltimore may be doing wrong.
