Police:Baltimore Co. man rams shuttle bus, leads police on chase through Anne Arundel Co.
Police say, a Baltimore County man has been arrested after ramming an airport shuttle bus and leading police on a chase through Anne Arundel County Friday morning.
Around 2:45 a.m., state police received a call stating a van driven by 48-year-old Pete Sommerfeldt, rammed the shuttle in the area of I-295 S at West Nursery Road.
Sommerfeldt is also suspected of waving a handgun at passengers on the shuttle.
Police say, he then fled onto I-97 where officials deployed stopsticks which punctured the front tire of the van.
The van then continued along I-97 to Route 50, before exiting onto Rowe Boulvard in Annapolis.
According to officials, the pursuit continued through the city until the van came to a dead end road near the Naval Academy.
Sommerfeldt, was taken into custody without incident.
According to police, highway areas were searched for a handgun they believe may have been thrown out but have not yet recovered a weapon.
The suspect is undergoing a medical examination and has multiple traffic and criminal charges pending against him.
No one was injured during this incident.
