ESSEX, Md. (WBFF) - Panic has turned to pain in Essex, where a 7-year-old girl lost her life just minutes after walking out of school on Thursday.

Police say the girl, who has not been identified yet, was leaving Sandalwood Elementary School when she stepped into the path of a van which was pulling out of a residential driveway.

“He rolled over her and she went under the car,” said Michelle Davis, who watched the incident unfold.
