Baltimore, Md (WBFF)--- Justify has won the Triple Crown taking the 150th Belmont Stakes. The 13th horse to ever win the Triple Crown title.

Justify won the Belmont Stakes by taking the lead out of the gate and never falling behind the field.

Justify went off as the 4-5 favorite out of the one gate and beat nine other horses to win, more competition than any Triple Crown winner has even beaten in the Belmont. Behind Justify, Gronkowski finished second, Hofburg third and Vinno Rosso in fourth.

It's the second Triple Crown since 2015 (American Pharoah 2015, Justify 2018). Prior to this run of winners, Affirmed in 1978.

Bob Baffert trained both American Pharoah and Justify. Justify is undefeated after not racing last season as a two-year-old, a perfect 6-0 in a career that started mid-February of this year. It's the second Triple Crown winner to go undefeated. Seattle Slew was unbeaten when he won the Triple Crown in 1977.

Jockey Mike Smith is the oldest jockey to ever win the Triple Crown at 52-years-old.
