Annie Thompson has been battling Multiple Myeloma, a rare form of blood cancer that targets and weakens the bones, for 13 years. In 2008 she formed Annie's Angels, starting with a group of friends and neighbors, to fundraise each year for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's 'Light the Night' walk, which raises money for research.
Each year the group has outraised their goal. Last year they raised over $11,000.
This year's Light the Night Walk will take place November 14 and Annie's goal is to raise $8000. Friend Patricia Brown, who also suffers from Multiple Myeloma, met Annie at last year's event, was inspired by her dedication, and nominated Annie for our Pay It Forward segment.
Every month, FOX45 and Cancer Treatment Centers of America honor viewers who are paying it forward. To nominate someone, visit foxbaltimore.com/contests
